- The MITTI rivet has a specific and controlled heat treatment; one of the fundamental steps for achieving the mechanical properties required by rivets for friction materials. These treatments guarantee the reduction of internal stresses and grain size, increase toughness and produce a hard surface with a ductile interior.
- State-of-the-art machinery is utilized for treating MITTI rivets, which determines and assigns the appropriate temperature based on the size of the rivet in a computerized way. This treatment is conducted using phase change diagrams, such as iron-iron-carbon/aluminum/copper/zinc. The temperatures at which they are treated are specified in this type of diagram.
